The Partner: WashTec France is a fully owned subsidiary of WashTec AG, the global leader in
automated carwash solutions. With a presence is over 70 countries and revenues above €372.8m in
2016, WashTec AG allows customers to sit back and enjoy a fast, comfortable and high-quality
carwash experience. Headquartered in St Jean de Braye, just outside Orléans, WashTec France employs
180 people, including 90 technicians ready to quickly intervene anywhere in France. WashTec France had
revenues of €51.8m in 2016 and has won multiple prizes for its technological innovations.
The Outcome: Since June 2015, when Certas purchased 272 Esso Express petrol stations in France,
WashTec have installed their carwash equipment on 35 Esso Express sites, with a view to reach 100
by the end of 2020. Sites were chosen after a rigorous evaluation process, which supplied reliable
data for choosing the right washing facility, with the right washing programmes and the most
appropriate marketing measures. The two services (fuel retail and carwash) complement each other,
and customer feedback is positive.
